This is the short, honest version of what EarlyEdge does with your data. We collect the minimum we need to write you a resume, charge you $19.99, and email you a receipt. We don't sell anything to anyone. If something here is unclear, email help@earlyedgehs.com.
1. What we collect
When you use the builder, you give us:
- Your name and email. Used to address the resume and to send you the Stripe receipt.
- Resume content. School, level, achievements, skills, goals, target audience, and — if you're revising an existing resume — the text of that resume. This is what the AI uses to write your resume.
- Payment information. Card details are entered on Stripe's checkout page and go directly to Stripe. We never see, store, or have access to your card number, CVC, or expiration date.
We don't ask for your address, phone number, date of birth, or government IDs. We don't run analytics scripts, ad pixels, or third-party trackers on the site. We don't set marketing cookies. Stripe's checkout page sets its own cookies that are necessary for payment to work — that's between you and Stripe.
2. How we use it
- To generate your resume. Your form input is sent to Anthropic (the makers of Claude) so the model can write the resume text. Anthropic processes it on our behalf and, under their API terms, does not use API inputs or outputs to train their models.
- To process your payment. We send the price and your email to Stripe, which charges your card and emails you the receipt.
- To deliver the result back to you. The generated resume is held briefly so the success page can fetch it and let you download the Word doc.
That's it. We don't email you newsletters, we don't add you to a mailing list, and we don't share your information with anyone outside of Stripe and Anthropic for the purposes above.
3. Where it's stored
Your form input and the generated resume are stored in Netlify Blobs — the storage service attached to our hosting provider. Blobs are accessible only to our backend functions and are not exposed to the public internet.
4. How long we keep it
We keep your form input and generated resume for 30 days, then a scheduled job permanently deletes them. Short-lived "in progress" records (used while the resume is being generated) are deleted within 24 hours. After that window, we no longer have a copy of what you submitted or what we generated. Stripe keeps its own records of the payment for as long as it needs to under financial-services law — that's outside our control.
If you'd like us to delete your data sooner, email help@earlyedgehs.com with the email address you used at checkout and we'll remove your records.
5. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask us:
- What information we hold about you,
- To correct it,
- To delete it,
- To stop processing it.
Email help@earlyedgehs.com from the address you used at checkout and we'll handle it. Because we don't keep accounts, your email is the only way we can find your records.
6. Children
EarlyEdge is intended for people building resumes for jobs, college, or scholarships, which means many of our users are teens. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you're under 13, please don't submit your information without a parent or guardian helping you. If you're a parent and you believe your child under 13 used the site, email us and we'll delete the records.
7. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Card data is handled entirely by Stripe, which is PCI-DSS Level 1 certified. The backend functions and blob storage are hosted on Netlify. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep our footprint small on purpose: less data collected means less data at risk.
8. International users
EarlyEdge is operated from the United States. If you use the site from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and in the regions our service providers (Stripe, Anthropic, Netlify) operate in.
9. Changes to this policy
If we change anything material, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change meaningfully affects how we handle your data, we'll do our best to flag it on the site.
