This policy explains what EarlyEdge collects, why, and who sees it. We try to collect as little as we can get away with. If something here is unclear, email help@earlyedgehs.com.

1. What we collect

When you use the builder, we collect what you type into it:

• Name and contact info (email, phone, city) — the same fields that end up on the resume.
• Resume content — education, experience, achievements, skills, goals, references, and the target audience you chose (employer, college, scholarship, or custom).
• Uploaded resume text — if you use "polish an existing resume" mode, the text extracted from your Word document (we do not keep the original file itself beyond the browser session; only the extracted text you see in the textarea is sent to us).

When you pay, Stripe collects your payment details on its own servers. We never see or store your credit card number. We do receive back a Stripe session ID and payment status.

We do not use any web analytics, advertising pixels, or third-party tracking cookies on this site.

2. How we use it

• To generate your resume — the form data is sent to Anthropic's Claude model, which writes the resume text, which we send back to your browser.
• To process your payment — via Stripe.
• To respond if you contact us — e.g., for a refund request or support question.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use your resume content to train any AI model.

3. Who sees it

• Anthropic — receives your form input for the one-shot generation. Under Anthropic's API terms, inputs submitted through the API are not used to train their models.
• Stripe — receives the information needed to run the payment.
• Netlify — hosts the site and stores the form data and generated resume in its Blobs service (see retention below).

Other than these processors, we don't share your data with anyone. Law enforcement would need a lawful request.

4. How long we keep it

Your form input and the generated resume are stored in Netlify Blobs so the success page can retrieve the resume after payment and so you can come back and re-download it in the near term. We keep these for up to 30 days, then delete them. You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see below.

5. Your choices

• See what we have about you — email us and we'll send a copy.
• Delete it — email us and we'll remove your form input and generated resume from our storage. This does not affect the copy of the Word doc you already downloaded to your own device.
• Correct it — the easiest way to fix something is to run a new generation with the correct info.

6. Children

EarlyEdge is built with high-school students in mind, but it is not designed for users under 13. If you are under 13, please use the service only with a parent or guardian's involvement. If we learn we've collected information from a child under 13 without that involvement, we'll delete it.

7. Security

Data in transit is encrypted with HTTPS. Data at rest lives in Netlify Blobs, which uses standard cloud-provider encryption. No system is bulletproof, so please don't put anything in the form that you wouldn't want on a resume.

8. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and bump the "Last updated" date at the top.
